About Me

Welcome! My name is Henry George, and I’m proud to call Monroe, New York (Hudson Valley) my home. I created this site to share my personal journey in weightlifting and powerlifting, hoping to inspire and guide others along the way

Barbell Strength Coach for Teenagers in New York.

My Story

I first started lifting weights as a teenager, and those early experiences as a teen athlete shaped me in ways I’m only now able to fully appreciate. After a long break, I rediscovered my passion for training in my late 30s. As a full-time professional, husband, and father of three, I understand the challenge of juggling life’s commitments—but I’ve found that consistent strength training continues to benefit me, both physically and mentally.

My Philosophy

  • Teaching Youth: I love introducing young teens to weightlifting. My mission is to teach the right way to lift—safe, effective, and enjoyable—setting them up for lifelong success.

  • Cutting Through the Noise: After 10+ years of reading, researching, and personal trial-and-error, I know what works: a straightforward barbell program built around 5-6 core exercises plus a few smart assistance movements.

  • Leading by Example: I train consistently and compete in powerlifting, showing that progress is possible at any age.

Achievements

  • USA Powerlifting competitor since 2020.

  • New York State Masters Division champion in 2023 and 2025.

  • I continue making strength gains as a Master's lifter, and my official meet results are available on the Open Powerlifting Website.

My Coaching Mission

My goal as a strength coach is simple: help you achieve your best and keep you safe and healthy, whether you're an aspiring athlete, a parent, or just getting started. I’ll teach you the most effective exercises, proper form and technique, and give you guidance you can use for a lifetime.
